In Vietnam
Although many westerners still imagine Vietnam from an era of war, it’s a country of breathtaking natural beauty with a unique heritage, packed with history, stunning landscapes, cultural highlights and amazing food. It’s one of the most exciting destinations in South East Asia. BRIC’S took the opportunity to hit the road with Courtney (@Courtneysteeves) , Kylie (@Kytrisha), Tanya (@Oneworldjustgo), Suzy (@Suzyshattuck), Marisa (@Marisahampe), Annie (@Anniesbucketlist), Mallory (@Malloryonthemoon) and with Acanela Expeditions (@acanelaexpeditions) to explore this South East Asia Adventure. The team visited beautiful rice terraces, explored stunning Karst mountain landscapes, had dinner at delicious local restaurants, and more.
It was a trip that shed light on the complex Vietnamese culture and diversity for our travelers. The labyrinthine commercial alleys of the nation are full of crafts and reflect centuries of mercantile influences. Ancient temples show Chinese influences in the north and Hindu origins in the south, while the broad boulevards with trees and buildings of the capital showcase a French colonial imprint. In the big cities, shaped by corporate headquarters and luxury hotels, steel and glass, highlight the modern Vietnamese prosperity and its proximity to the center of the new economic power.
